Nature NL Members and Friends Retreat at Grates Cove, NL

November Public Talk – Plants of the Limestone Barrens

  The limestone barrens are a unique habitat in this province that occurs on the west coast of Newfoundland. They extend from Boutte du Cap on the Port au Port Peninsula to Burnt Cape and Cape Norman near the tip of the Northern Peninsula. They are a marvel of plant diversity and are host to three endemic species, Barrens Willow, Long’s Braya and Ferenald’s Braya.
