January Nature Nook a success

Our January Sunday afternoon program at The Rooms provincial museum went great! We got the chance to chat with 78 people of all ages – from the littlest ones in strollers all the way up to grandparents and seniors who stopped by. Sometimes we did activities with them in the ‘nook’, where we had a full table of specimens set up, as well as a winter tracking game and a rock and mineral collection. Or sometimes we spent time throughout the gallery, talking whale skeletons and ducks with interested families! It was a great start to 2016. Special thanks to our new Nature Nook volunteers Chelsie, Megan, Leanne, and Laura, our long-time volunteers Rita, Allan, Michael, and Jocelyn, and of course Laurie from The Rooms for organizing. Our next Nature Nook will be Sunday, February 28th 2016 from 1-4pm. The program is already included in your admission so come by the Connections gallery and say hello to our friendly naturalists!
