Happy #WetlandWednesday 🌲 Wetlands are an ever Happy #WetlandWednesday 🌲 Wetlands are an everyday part of our lives. Often quietly present, sometimes right under our noses. They appear in guides, novels, and stories, both directly and indirectly. To celebrate these vital ecosystems, we came together to highlight some guides and novels that have taught us about wetlands, made us think about their importance, or were set in these unique landscapes. The connections aren’t always obvious, but the impact is real. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite wetland themed or referenced guides and novels, hoping to inspire you to notice the small things that hold great value. 📚Have you read a novel or guide with a wetland theme? Share it in the comments! Your recommendation could be featured as a “Wetland Fan Pick” in our next lineup. Happy #wetlandWednesday! We are wrapping up this Happy #wetlandWednesday! We are wrapping up this seasons AERF BioBlitz series. This project was initiated to monitor and promote wetland's in Bonavista, St.Shott's and Swift Current. We chose these three communities because they represent different eco-regions that you can find within the province. All of these wetlands feed into watersheds that provide habitat for vulnerable and endangered species such as Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and American eel (Anguilla rostrata). 👉 Swipe through to see some of the incredible species we documented this year! Of course, there are many more species still waiting to be recorded. We look forward to continuing this project next year with the ongoing collection of data alongside community members and our project partner, Aquatic Conservation Initiative. 💧✨ This project is funded and supported by the Aquatic Ecosystems Restoration Fund (AERF) made possible by @FisheriesOceansCAN In efforts of restoration and conservation of aquatic ecosystems #iNaturalist #BioBlitz #AERF #watersheds #Wetlands #protectwetlands @aquaticconservationinitiative

Join Us To Celebrate World Cleanup Day! 🗑🌱 Join Us To Celebrate World Cleanup Day! 🗑🌱 On September 20th, Stewardship Association of Municipalities Inc , The Town of Portugal Cove - St. Philip's , and Nature Newfoundland and Labrador invite you to help us celebrate World Cleanup Day at Voisey’s Brook Park from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. With increased use of the trail over the summer, litter has unfortunately become more visible along the trails. Lets give back to nature by restoring the trail to its natural beauty. Join us at our Cache In, Trash Out (CITO) event, searching for the Geocaches hiding throughout the trails while actively collecting litter. You can find the CITO Event Page here or by scanning the QR code: https://www.geocaching.com/.../GCBB765_cache-me-in-nature... The day will conclude with refreshments and a social at the hut. We can't wait to "cache" you on the trail! #WorldCleanupDay
