Presenter: Dr. Derek Wilton, Memorial University 7:30 P.M. Thursday January 15, 2015 Memorial University, Science Building Room SN 2067   Derek Wilton presents the amazing and untold stories of mining in  Newfoundland and Labrador and its role in our economic, social and cultural history.   Dr. Wilton is a faculty member in the Department of Earth Sciences at  Memorial University and has engaged in mineral deposit research in Newfoundland and Labrador, other parts of Canada, Nevada, Botswana and  Malaysia. He is also interested in the history of geological exploration in  Labrador, including work conducted by aboriginal groups prior to contact  with Europeans.   All are welcome.
