Douglas Ballam has been working in conservation in NL for more than 20 years. He has primarily worked in land conservation, having worked on the establishment of provincial, federal and third-party protected areas. During this time has also served as a member of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and participated in several oversees pilgrimages. In recent years, Douglas has made several presentations to the public and specific groups calling for a “Nature Endowment” to be funded primarily through donations from the resource extraction sector. Douglas lives in Mt. Pearl with his wife and two teenaged children.
