Welcome to Nature NL's online Bird Learning Night! Welcome to Nature NL's online Bird Learning Night! 🦆
Join Nature NL and our experienced naturalists who will walk you through a series of bird photos and teach you how to identify each one!

Learn to use identification clues like looking at the shape of the bird, plumage, beak, behavior, etc. A great chance to improve your skills and learn from biologists and naturalists.🔎

You don't need to have any bird experience to participate, and there are always a variety of levels of birds (some very easy, some nearly impossible to ID). The photos are not perfect, but that's a very realistic way to learn identification because in the real world, we don't always get perfect views of birds either. 🦅

The session will start at 7:30pm (Newfoundland time) and wrap up at 8:30pm. See link below to join the zoom meeting!

Thank you to Wildlife Habitat Canada for supporting Nature NL’s Activities! Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) is a non-profit organization that conserves wildlife habitat by making investments in conservation. In 2020, WHC introduced the Community Conservation Action Program (CCAP) as a pilot, to help smaller organizations access the funding that they need to make a difference in conservation within their community. This program supports WHC’s commitment to find innovative projects that get Canadians outdoors, connecting with nature! To learn more, visit www.whc.org/CCAP.

A big thank you to our volunteers who have worked on this project!

The goal of these surveys is to collect baseline data of bird activity along the coastal regions of the Avalon Peninsula to inform oil spill preparedness and industrial development proposals.
